Mr. Carl specializes in providing complex insurance claims consulting related to
asbestos, pollution and human health liabilities. For nearly 10 years Brian has
helped his clients recover costs stemming from mass torts and environmental remediation.
His experience includes claims and damages analysis; financial solvency analysis;
estimation of future costs; probabilistic litigation risk analysis; development
of negotiation and settlement strategies; solvent and insolvent schemes of arrangement;
and the development of various financial modeling tools.
Brian has been involved in more than two dozen cost recovery engagements, which
have collectively resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in recoveries for
his policyholder clients from the London Market and domestic insurers. Brian’s insurance
expertise covers a variety of claims and disputes across several industries including
chemical, oil and gas, transportation, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, manufacturing
and defense.
Brian’s previous professional experience includes serving as an experienced manager
in the Insurance Claims Practice of LECG, LLC. Prior to joining LECG in 2002, Brian
worked for Arthur Andersen in the Financial Advisory Services practice.
Brian holds a BA in Economics with an emphasis in Finance from St. Olaf College.
