Mr. Hargis is located in Chicago and is one of the senior founders of The Claro
Group. He is part of the firm's Global Insurance Claims Consulting practice, which
includes over 30 fulltime professionals dedicated to the resolution of major insurance
claims and related financial disputes.
Mr. Hargis has significant experience in asbestos, pollution and health hazard (APH)
insurance claim development, presentation, and negotiation for policyholders. He
has been instrumental in pioneering approaches and methodologies to value APH insurance
coverage that have become the standard by which settlements are achieved. Mr. Hargis
has been the lead partner on over 30 major APH insurance claims, which involved
a variety of underlying matters including, but not limited to, asbestos, general
and product liability claims, breast implant claims, hearing loss claims, and property
damage pollution claims. Mr. Hargis is often the lead negotiator with Equitas and
the London Market Companies on behalf of policyholders. Prior to founding The Claro
Group, Mr. Hargis was Partner-In-Charge of Arthur Andersen's Financial Advisory
Practice. Mr. Hargis led the insurance claims, intellectual property, litigation
support, economic consulting, and strategic valuation service areas which included
60+ partners and 700 professional staff.
