Claims Management Support Tool - Claro Allocation, Tracking and Reporting System
(CARTS)

The Claro Group has developed a new generation mass tort claim management support
tool and is currently deploying the tool at clients. The tool allows Claro to deliver
a high quality, low-cost integrated solution that assists in managing financial,
insurance and other information relating to a client's mass tort docket.
Claro Allocation, Tracking and Reporting System, or CARTS, allows clients to:
- Track and manage all case and claimant specific information in their mass tort docket;
- Centralize and standardize all reporting for their docket;
- Manage all local dockets through a centralized docket calendar;
- Track and download defense and indemnity electronically from defense counsel or
client accounting systems;
- Allocate to insurance policies as appropriate (e.g., consistent with coverage-in-place
settlement agreements); and
- Electronically invoice allocations to insurance carriers.
Client personnel and insurance or defense counsel can access summary and detailed
financial (and other) information on-line based on pre-determined access requirements.
This tool has been deployed and results in the following benefits:
- Reduced defense costs incurred maintaining and tracking various state dockets;
- Reduced internal costs incurred standardizing and aggregating data from various
separate systems;
- Reduced costs incurred for internal and external (e.g., SEC, SOX compliance, carrier)
reporting;
- Improved collection cycle times; and
- Increased accuracy and transparency of mass tort management system to client, auditors,
and insurance carriers.
