A large integrated oil and gas company.
The business issue.
The Claro Group assisted this multi-billion dollar oil and gas company in the design
and deployment of its Ariba implementation, including Buyer, Contract Management,
Category Management, and Analysis modules for all business units in all geographies
worldwide.
The solution.
This project included several phases:
- Project management – plan, execute and control the project including project team
resources, key stakeholders, communications, and client deliverables.
- Design – articulate the current state process and architect the improved, streamlined
contract management process.
- Build – create the infrastructure and processes for the new system.
- Test – beta test the new contract management process and modify as necessary.
- Deployment – stage deployment of the new contract management process for each business
unit in all geographies worldwide.
The results.
This approach enabled the company to target more than $8 billion of annual third-party
spend and to streamline its processes for creating, monitoring and enforcing contracts.
This also resulted in a contract “leakage” rate of less than 10 percent.
In addition, The Claro Group managed the company's contract-management lifecycle
centrally and consistently, enabling the company to:

- Reduce risk.
- Reduce time to contract.
- Achieve visibility into supplier performance.
