In Memoriam - Mark C. Hargis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend, former Chairman, and co-founder, Mark C. Hargis. Mark was part of the foundation and soul of The Claro Group. He was what all partners aspire to be – a highly sophisticated and knowledgeable advisor who understood the needs of his clients while being equally admired and respected by his colleagues.

Mark cared deeply about the firm and considered his colleagues part of his extended family. Mark’s leadership was graceful, thoughtful and selfless. He was Claro’s first Chairman and mentored many to successful careers through the years. His positive influence on the firm and its members is a lasting legacy for which we are very grateful. We will be forever in his debt for his many contributions and making Claro such a special place. We extend our sincerest condolences to his wife Toni, daughter Cydney, and sons Aidan and Cal. Mark’s family was his biggest joy.

Prior to founding The Claro Group, Mark was a Managing Director of LECG, LLC. and a partner with Arthur Andersen.   When not at Claro, you could find Mark on the golf course, skiing, at a Cubs game and most importantly, doing any of these activities with his family.

While his passing was far too soon, we are thankful we were fortunate to call Mark our partner and cherished friend.  He will be terribly missed by his colleagues at Claro and all those who had the good fortune to know him.
