Community Involvement

The Claro Group takes its responsibilities to society seriously. Our employees contribute hundreds of hours each year to numerous local and national organizations. We value community empowerment while engaging employees in fun and rewarding experiences.

Since its founding, Claro has donated to local and national non-profit organizations throughout the United States. In addition to the monetary commitments made by the company, all staff are provided time to volunteer for service projects with the office’s chosen local charity and employees are encouraged to involve themselves in these activities. Fundraising activities are conducted throughout the year, either organized or promoted by the Community Outreach Group.

Below are a few of the charities we continue to support year after year.

Ann & Robert H. Lurie’s Children Hospital of Chicago

Each fall, our employees in Chicago dedicate a day to making 60 fleece tie blankets to donate to Lurie’s. We purchase supplies and load them into conference rooms and give employees the chance to take a quick break and make a blanket or dedicating their entire day to the blanket making. After the blankets have been completed and washed, we bring them to the hospital and receive a tour.

John B. Murphy Elementary School

For 11 years, Claro employees have been volunteering at Murphy’s School in December. We purchase supplies to make gingerbread houses for the 2nd graders at the school. Our employees group off, and help the kids make their own creation of a gingerbread house. It is a day full of laughter and fun with the kids. We end the day with a surprise visit from Santa Claus for the children. This is one of the most anticipated events in the Chicago office.

1736 Family Crisis Center

Each December, The LA office volunteers for a day at the 1736 Family Crisis Center annual Holiday Store. The store allows people of all ages enrolled in the Crisis Center programs to select gifts for themselves and family members. All gifts are free and help make the holidays a special and joyous time of celebration for the children, teens, and adults.

BEARing Gifts

Our Houston Office has been volunteering at The BEARing Gifts program for several years. This program is dedicated to spreading holiday cheer by giving gifts to Child Protective Services (CPS) kids during the holiday season. The annual toy drive raises over 20,000 gifts for over 6,000 children in CPS custody. CPS caseworkers submit wish lists for children under their care. The requests are filled by foundations, corporate grants, family gifts, and individuals.

Miriam’s Kitchen

The DC office volunteers at Miriam’s Kitchen each year. Their mission is to end chronic homelessness in D.C. They achieve this by serving meals and supplying housing. Miriam’s Kitchen plays a critical role in the community.

E3 Alliance (Education Equals Economics)

The Austin office has partnered with the E3 Alliance (Education Equals Economics) to provide pro-bono consulting services throughout the year. Thank you to everyone in Austin for your dedication to giving back to your community and we look forward to getting the office involved in future firm-wide activities!

Saving Tiny Hearts

The Claro Group has sponsored the Saving Tiny Hearts Society for several years. Saving tiny Hearts Society is passionately dedicated to eliminating Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) as a major health concern by funding revolutionary life-saving research for the #1 Birth Defect worldwide, to improve, prolong and save the lives of countless children born with CHD.

Claro Cares Charitable Sponsorship Assistance Program

In order to encourage charitable activity, staff are eligible to submit a sponsorship request each year. For each employee’s minimum qualified donation of $1,000 or more, Claro will contribute $200 to assist in reaching the charitable donation goal.
