Overview

Pamela Parizek is a Managing Director with The Claro Group and co-leads the firm’s Investigations and Regulatory Compliance practice. She is a recognized business leader with over 25 years of experience advising audit committees, c-suite executives and outside counsel on complex accounting, legal and regulatory matters. Ms. Parizek is a JD/CPA, AICPA certified in financial forensics, and prior to joining The Claro Group, served in the enforcement division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, conducted sensitive investigations for a business intelligence firm, and led the Washington, DC forensic practice of an international accounting firm.

Ms. Parizek has advised public and private US and global clients in various industries and has provided forensic assistance to audit engagement teams on fraud risk, accounting irregularities and alleged illegal acts. She has led over 100 engagements in 30 countries, including numerous cross-border investigations into alleged FCPA violations. She has also developed FCPA training programs, risk-assessments, compliance audits, due diligence procedures and remediation plans for clients in the US, Europe, South America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Her findings have been presented to the SEC, DOJ, SFO and other U.S. and foreign regulatory authorities – in compliance with restrictive data protection and privacy regimes around the world.

  • Global lead forensic partner in DOJ/SEC investigation into alleged improper payments to customs officials in Argentina; FCPA risk assessments in Italy, Japan and Hong Kong for Fortune 500 publicly-traded luxury retail client. Findings presented to DOJ/SEC.
  • Global lead forensic partner in DOJ/SEC investigation into alleged improper payments to Russian customs officials for cross border transits of finished vehicles, production components and spare parts by logistics providers and customs brokers for Fortune 500 publicly-traded automotive concern. Findings presented to DOJ/SEC.
  • Global lead forensic partner in Audit Committee investigation into alleged theft of corporate assets and potential improper payments by Polish and Ukrainian subsidiaries of US auto-part supplier. Investigation included review and analysis of email, voicemail, text messages and other communications in multiple locations and languages in conformity with restrictive data privacy regimes. Findings presented to DOJ/SEC.
  • Global lead forensic partner in Audit Committee investigation into alleged improper payments by Singapore-based logistics provider. Findings presented to Singapore regulatory authorities.
  • Global lead forensic partner in SFO/World Bank investigation into potential improper payments by publishing company in Africa. Findings presented to SFO/World Bank.
  • Lead forensic partner in Audit Committee investigation into alleged overstatement of IBNR reserves. Led multi-disciplinary review team of audit, forensic and actuary professionals and oversaw accounting analysis as well as electronic communications review protocols and classification criteria for 175-member project team.
  • External compliance advisor for several multilateral investment funds and administered annual financial disclosure programs to ensure compliance with conflict of interest rules.
  • Independent Auditor in false claims act matter to facilitate settlement among global shipping company, DOJ and Department of Navy.
